Empty Bowls 2026!
Empty Bowls is an international, grassroots fundraising project designed to fight hunger, where artists donate their ceramic bowls and guests enjoy a simple meal, keeping the bowl as a reminder of hunger in the world.
We bring together potters, cooks and musicians to raise money to support our downtown homeless community!
Restaurants and chefs from San Diego contribute delicious soups and bread while TACO volunteers serve our guests. Meanwhile, we’ll have hundreds of custom bowls on display, all made from local potters, woodworkers and craftspeople, ready for you to take home as a memento and reminder of your value to the TACO community!
Not just that, live music will be performed by Michael Ruy and Jerry Williams!
Our good friends at La Jolla Methodist Church lend us their meeting hall and courtyard to host a beautiful event. For your $25 donation, you’ll receive lunch for one, a bowl to take home and TACO’s sincere gratitude. Last year, through your generosity, TACO served 31,000 warm meals to hungry people in downtown San Diego. We anticipate even more demand for 2026, so we need you more than ever.
Please join us for this unique event!
