We have terrific partners.
This is how they support us.

We are proud to partner with Feeding San Diego to provide free food assistance for our community. Twice a week, FSD provides over three hundred pounds of rescued Starbucks' sandwiches and pastries that we share with hundreds of people who visit TACO every day.

For many years, Lucky Duck Foundation has been one of our most-important partners. They prepare over 2400 snack packs a month, match TACO fund raising efforts and help organize some of our best fund-raisers. Plainly, Lucky Duck makes it possible for many smaller charities to even run their programs... Our partnership with Lucky Duck is invaluable and we're proud to serve the unhoused communities of San Diego together. For more, visit: . https://www.luckyduckfoundation.org/

Helix Electric are experts at commercial electric installation in San Diego and between jobs, they also support TACO with clothing drives, fund raising, hundreds of volunteer-hours and earlier this year, when they heard we needed a tow vehicle to drag our shower trailer around, they even donated a Ford F-150 from their fleet! We are appreciative of Helix Electric and love our relationship with them. https://www.helixelectric.com/

It's practically impossible to overstate the importance of the churches that support TACO. Beside the members from First Church, TACO's founder and host, people  from Lutheran churches all over San Diego show up to serve meals, put some clothes on people, deliver mail and provide reliable fund-raising and organization efforts. Through good times and bad, the Lutheran community has supported TACO and seen us through some real challenges. We can't thank them enough for their shared concern for their neighbors and their sponsorship of TACO. These are just a few of the most prominent churches who play such an active role in our programs.

One of our very first partners was the San Diego Food Bank and we continue to count on their support to feed our unhoused neighbors. SD Food Bank’s role is two-fold for us. We use the food we get from them to prepare three warm meals a week and also as foodstuffs for clients with a place to cook for themselves. In 2025, the San Diego Food Bank provided over 5800 pounds of food worth more than $7,000. We appreciate their partnership and look forward to many more years together.

At the Downtown San Diego Lions Club, their commitment to community service is at the heart of everything they do. Besides contribute hundreds of volunteer hours every month, Lions actively fund and participate in a wide range of service projects that address the specific needs of the San Diego community. Every month, they arrive at TACO to serve meals and help sort mail. We appreciate them so much!

The Padres Volunteer Team is a county wide volunteer force created to give back to the greater San Diego area. It calls up Padres fans to donate their time to San Diego's nonprofits and civic organizations.

Our mission is to build awareness of and inspire participation in serving the greater San Diego and Baja communities.

Since 1981, Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD) has been serving homeless veterans, their families, and those at risk of homelessness. Each year, VVSD supports thousands of military veterans and their families across San Diego County. Through comprehensive programs and services, including housing, mental health therapy, workforce development, case management and so much more, they provide individualized support to help veterans rebuild their lives. VVSD works closely with TACO to help the veterans we both serve. We also have a very special relationship with their kitchen. Executive Chef Ralph Ford calls TACO whenever they have extra meats, vegetables and other foodstuffs to help us prepare the 31,000 meals we provide every year! Thank you, VVSD! We appreciate you.

The Downtown San Diego Rotary Club was charted in October 1990 and actively supports private and public community organizations throughout San Diego. TACO is grateful to be one of them!

Besides regularly contributing volunteer hours, in April 2026, The Downtown San Diego Rotary Club recently presented TACO with a grant of $4,000 for eggs! Believe it or not, we use 45 dozen eggs every week for our Friday breakfast! That's 540 eggs a week! Thanks to the Rotary Club’s donation, we can buy ten months of eggs! Thank you, Rotarians! We can’t do our work without you.
